I learned in high school "Atgimimas" in Druskininkai. I never smoked and now I smoke either, but in my school had many students who smoked. They all went in the Pause to kiosks, where they smoked. There were some very young students from 13 to 18-19 years. Also, many girls were smoking.
I think they did so because of the fashion, in front of friends because she wanted to be "cool".
In my class were about 20 students of 31 who smoke, usually it was the girl. In my circle of friends are very few people who smoke. I am glad that I am under the strong and healthy people.

But I have no problem with smoking. No one smokes in both my family and among friends. I do not know why it is so. Maybe all take care of their health. For example, I have a friend to smoke his friend one day began. When my friend learned that his friend smokes, he said: "If you smoke more, you're no longer my friend." Then their friendship ended.
So, not everyone makes friends a big impact.
