bookbinding: book repair according to the rules of art 
from a book ruin back into a fully usable book, which brings me a tremendous pleasure. But when I showed her friend, she is working on scientific publications, their battered but irreplaceable XXL-Webster, I had to swallow. That was a monster with 32 x 22 cm and 10 cm thick block with an 2626 bible pages (!). The book was purchased in the early 80s under license in Asia for Chinese-English students and was - as I experienced, "the West" is not available. 
Well, I've cut the rind carefully, their backs cleaned, balanced and twice secured with three threads and gauze aufgepappt headband and sleeve. Wg of the difficult statics of the book I had as a front light gray elephant skin selected. The new ceiling of 3 mm smooth Bubipappe I've covered in natural linen and trimmed the detached and cleaned parts of the old back, and eventually glued. After hanging then came the otherwise dormant under the roof Klotz Presse (Eberhard Thanks!) And borrowed Einpressbretter (Thanks Zimbo!) Are used. it, then have the monster (6.2 kg) from the house!
