How Big A Number Is A Mole

convert audio CD to mp3 with k3b

Today I tried to get a simple, non-copy protected audio CD with k3b to MP3 format on the hard disk. This is in Kubuntu 9.04 but not quite as trivial, think about how to proceed.

First, lame (that's an MP3 Encoder) are installed from the package manager. If you try then read out the CD with k3b and to bring about lame comes to MP3 format, but an error message à la
Failed command: lame-h xxxxx.mp3 "
and
"error when encoding tracks 1"
.
reason for this error is still unresolved bug that apparently exists since Kubuntu 8.10. It can be quite simple but deal
:
first k3b start
third Option set k3b "

4th Section "Module" 5th Module section "audio encoder" - "K3b External Audio Encoder" double 6th "MP3 (Lame)" select "Edit" and click

7th are at the bottom of the window there, the Properties section "reverse byte order" button 8th "Write Wave header" button

9th OK to close all the windows, CD insert and convert.

Allen, whose MP3 player with OGG Vorbis support, I would recommend anyway, like convert to OGG. This creates smaller files and better quality and is also still an open format:)
