scanning under KDE4
After printing on my inkjet multifunction Epson Stylus Photo RX420
already functioning well, I wanted to also take the scanner.
known from the KDE3 Kooka has been replaced in KDE4 by Skanlite

xsane, but I find the X-surface in a KDE4 somewhat antiquated. So I've looked around a bit and see me there: In digikam (KDE 4 version) can be under 'Import - Scan' appeal to the scanner. Short tried and yes, it is also with mine! Although one can adjust relatively few options for scanning, but I to 95% anyway scan only documents, like setting one resolution and color quality, it is sufficient at least for my purposes so far from completely.
