I have just almost totgesucht, driver module checks amixer checked, everything okay, but no sound came. The solution:
Right click the speaker icon on the bottom - 'show volume control' - 'Mixer' - Remove the check mark 'dumb Master' at.
So well hidden options I was used otherwise rather under Windows: (
